Have you played one?
Some years back I ordered a Sitka/Rock Maple 12-string version - it was nicely made -great fit & finish - Hiscox case .... but acoustically it was thin and weak sounding. Big disappointment but it looked nice and sold quickly. I do know Maton have since made changes to address their straight acoustic sound so maybe the newer ones are much better - just thought you should know.

thanks, Bruce.....nope, never owned one, never played one.....trying to decide between the Tak cool tube and the Maton AP5-Pro electronics.....I've played around with the CTP-2 (pretty nice) and I'd like to play the Maton AP5 Pro.....
no shops even close to me, so I research and buy.....gets expensive sometimes.....I have my unplugged sound covered but have never settled on electronics, and I've owned a bunch.....I'm used to the dreads and jumbos for my rhythm style, but they're difficult to amplify.....my Guild F50R with DTAR multi source is real nice.....thinking about gigging with smaller guitar, I sit now most of the time.....the Maton Jumbos are the size of a Taylor GS, so maybe the AP5 Pro will give me a stage sound like the DTAR (or better) and be "decent" unplugged.....I appreciate your imput.....most of my "research" is done right here at AGF..... |
