Cool Professional violinists fail to pick the Stradivarius!

The fact that so many renowned violinists overwhelmingly picked the sound of the newer violins I found strange, but encouraging. It's not just me that can't hear any distinguishable difference! I've been looking for another violin lately. I have my American made Strad copy, so now I can focus on a Guarnari copy, which I heard have much better tone. Antonio Stradivari had an experienced advertising exec & more effective marketing plan, so he won the popularity contest, I guess.

I will probably do the same as I do with guitars...buy one that looks really stunning, but only if the price is right! Then buy a better bow!

The top violinist in the world play a Stradivarius. They either own or have them on loan. Once you see the top players switching, you will know the truth.

Among classical players, there is a pecking order in which the builders and teachers tell the player what is best.

Lastly, a great solo violin is not based on tone quality but one that will be heard above the orchestra in a large concert hall.
