I don't have an answer for you but also interested in such a book. I also wanted to welcome you to AGF. I see you've been around for a few months but I have not made your acquaintance. And you live just up the road from me!

As silly as it may sound, do a Google search for Fingerstyle Worship; or try finger style praise. Also try John Standefer's web site johnstandfer.com and praise guitar.com.

I hope that helps!

Default fingerstyle

Hey Bill

Thanks for the welcome. I have been around a few years, but when they changed my service provider in my area, and I had to change the profile in AGF, for some reason there were all kinds of problems accepting the change on AGF server. I had senior members trying to help, but we could not get it to work----so to get back on I had to change my user name etc.,,---used to be morrow22

Thanks again for the feedback and the welcome, very nice way to start the morning.

Scott

Ah, Scott! Now I'm back to one person I know in Simpsonville. Hope you are well.

Check out Pete Huttlinger's site. He has a number of books CDs and combo packs that might interest you.

Scott, 2 suggestions

Fingerpicking Praise by Hal Leonard and Mark Hansons Hymns and Spirituals.

The former is more contemporary also more at the intermediate level to advanced beginner. The later, more traditional and more difficult. The later also has cd with explanation and a slow and fast version recorded.

Hal Leonard also has a book out now, Fingerpicking Worship and Fingerpicking Hymns. I just discovered them myself, saw this old thread, and thought I'd post it.

Check out John Standefer at http://www.johnstandefer.com/

John does a lot with fingerstyle worship.

Paul Baloche's DVD Acoustic Guitar in the Modern Worship series has a section devoted to fingerpicking in a P&W context.
