I started learning the solo and outro from the Black Crowes version of Hard To Handle using the recently completed makeover of an American special strat with the HSS pickup configuration. I’ve always liked the raw attack of this solo. I hope to do it some justice when under my fingers.

Gilmour solos on Time and Comfortably Numb. Dire Straits Brothers in Arms, Slash's parts on SCOM and always some ABB.

Wow...Gilmour solos...yeah, toughest parts I've ever tried to learn. I have an online music site that I really like. Great instructor, usually lessons are broken into two 20-30 min sections. Videos, backing tracks, and tab/notation are included for each lesson..pretty cool. But the Gilmour style lesson...oh man, must be the large number of bends and syncopated playing that threw me. And I'm not new to tough lessons. Try some latin jazz pieces sometimes with all the extensions and inversions and shells needed to complete that sound.

In the last stages of tightening up "Basket Case" by Green Day.
Just started on "All Right now" by Free and "Back in Black" by AC/DC.

I mostly live in the acoustic finger style world, but when I pick up the electric, it's jazzy style blues, Stormy Monday and such. Right now I've bee delving into Kenny Burrell, Midnite Blue and Chitlins Con Carne on my hollow body ES125T. I like working on octave leads like Wes Montgomery, all filtered through my limited jazz knowledge
