Default Almost time to pull the trigger

I have read hear about the Taylor 150e 12 string, all with good review,. Have found one new as cheap as I can find for about 150 less then most. Before I make my decision to buy I will ask this question.

Is there anyone that does not like the 150e, and why? Please don't respond with, because it does not play and sound as good as my 3,000 what ever. We all know a good sound can be had from a more expensive guitar, most of the time, well except for a Hello Kitty. I just want to know if there are better choices for that kind of money new? If I could find a good used one for less, that would be great but those seem to be kind of rare.

The brand new Guild F-2512 might be worth trying out, it just might sound better than the 150e, check out this mini-review and killer street prices.

'As renowned for 12-strings as they are for arched-back models, Guild offers the best of both worlds with the F-2512E Maple, built with a solid Sitka spruce top paired with an arched maple back. All other models feature solid Sitka spruce tops with arched mahogany backs. Guild’s signature arched-back design allows for great volume and projection, long sustain, and a lush, full sound. Guild continues to play to its strengths, while upholding the same commitment to quality and sound the brand has always been known for. Street price ranges from $399-$499.'

A used USA-made Guild 12-string can often be found within $100 of the street price of the Taylor 150e, and will absolutely blow the doors off of any 12-string you can place your hands on for under $1000.

You have to be careful with older 12-strings, however, as the string tension over the years can gradually shallow the neck angle to the point where a neck reset is eventually needed.

But nothing touches a real-deal American Guild 12-string for power or tone.

I went quite a bit out of my way to make sure I played the 150e. The playability was very, very good. But to me, there just wasn't anywhere near enough bass response. Before buying one, I suggest that you try the Martin D12X1AE. Don't be put off by the HPL back and sides. The tone is quite good, and the playability is as good as the Taylor. I also suggest you try, as has been recommended above, the Guild F2512, even though I haven't played one. My experience with my Guild D212 has generated a lot of respect for Guild 12's. As far as used 12's, I would never buy one unless I had the opportunity to inspect it closely, in person.

A big part of my problem, has not being able to try any 12 string in person to. The idea of ordering one used or new even with warranty and such just scares the heck out of me, even if it can be returned, the hassle just turns me off.

There is a local shop that has the 150e on order, but it will be another 5 to 7 weeks before in comes in. not that I am is a big hurry but still would like to try something out. I will take another look at the Martins, and Guilds mentioned. I have notice a few Martin 12s used, not out of reach price wise.

This why I have ask this question, knowing there are some here with firsthand experience and I appreciate your input.
