Learning style, need chords of a song
Hello folks,
Apologies if this is the wrong section for these kind of inquiries or frowned upon in general, but I was wondering if you could help me out determining the chords of a song, since it is the easiest and most fulfilling way for me to practice. I would do this myself but I'm just starting out so I can't determine them by ear, yet. It's the intro, which repeats throughout the song, of Coleman Hell's Summerland, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4rI46YY93jA Thank you kindly, rockstack |

I use Chordify to get hints, then my ears. According to Chordify, it's in Dm. No idea if it really is, but you might find Chordify useful either way.

Dmin F Amin If you want to play it *exactly* like the record however, that will take a bit more work as this is an altered tuning (bottom string is D for starters) and some of the notes and chords are hammered on. I could write it out in notation but to tab it and give you the fingering would take rather more work to figure out his tuning. Sounds like it could be a baritone guitar to me.

I use this: https://www.seventhstring.com/xscribe/screenshots.html
It's designed to help you listen, although it will suggest chords if you ask it. (You have to record the track first, the program works with audio files, not with streaming audio.) What it won't tell you (of course) is how the guitar is tuned. In this case (having used that program to slow it down) it seems to be in an open Dm tuning: DADFAD. (Normal guitar, not necessarily a baritone, unless it has a capo!) So, JohnnyBGood's chords are right, but they won't be the usual shapes.

That's actually what i was thinking. I would likely try it with Em shapes on my baritone with a capo on 3, makes for easy shapes. If the voicing fits, it would work well.
