I noticed that the Phil Keaggy tune they used was a recording he made with a McPherson guitar for their "498 Sunset Drive" Demo CD (which is awesome, BTW), and I'm guessing that Sweet Baby James was recorded before James had his Olson?

True to the MN "image" I think James really lives in Lake Wobegone!

Saw it yesterday on the Petros Facebook page, really cool! What a down to earth guy that worked his way up the food chain!

I loved the look on his face in the one still shot at the end - looking back at whomever was taking the picture while JT was playing his guitar - his face was saying "HOW COOL IS THIS????"

His guitars look and sound great but there's no way I could afford one unless I hit the lottery or something.

Very cool. All those years of building... and then one day soon he will build the last one.

His totally unwarranted humility is amazing.

I had a nice email exchange with him last night - it was even more apparent

Just a great story, and an even better human being.

I've played and disliked three of his guitars...but my heavens if he isn't really a charming and wonderful cat. I dig his ego free vibe and as stated, his humility.

His perspective on the Sisyphean nature of most artists was very cool, and made me really respect him more.

Workmanship seemed impeccable.

Thanks for posting this, and giving me the chance to change my view on the guy.

A really great video...and a really wonderful man and legendary craftsman.

but...it is sadly ironic that the version of "Sweet Baby James" they used, was JT playing his old Gibson J-50...which doesn't sound anywhere near as good as James playing the song on his Olson.

With all the great recorded versions of James playing that song on his Olson, why on earth would they do that????

Best Regards
duff

Wow, what a well-produced video. Glad to see Jim on YouTube. Although I no longer own one of his guitars, it was a great pleasure to get to know him a little bit better. He is very down to earth, soft-spoken, and transparent. I hope he continues to build for many years to come.
