Ok...has it been a while? Maybe it has.

Steve and I are finishing up two guitars this week that we are planning on taking to the Guild of American Luthiers Convention that takes place next week in Tacoma. (If you're in the area, come see us!) One of them is this guitar. The other I'll post some shots of later.

Anyway, I know you just want pics.

In case you forgot what the Red Eucalyptus looks like.

Here's a shot of the peghead with the finish not quite buffed out.

And gluing on the bridge.

I'll update as I get the neck and strings on...are you still excited? If you're interested in a special discount on this guitar, feel free to contact me and I'll give you one.

Thanks for following along my AGF friends.

Question: Will this have the infamous "magical tone-bars" that you install at your day job?

Of course, how else can I turn the tone up to 11?

I know this is a little off topic, but back in the other thread about this guitar, some people asked me about my first guitar. I recently got some photo equipment for my birthday, and I decided to give it a test run tonight. I'm still going to need to work on lighting, and I didn't get around to setting up backdrops, but I think I proved to myself that there's potential. But until I have the time for a real shoot, here's a couple pics of my first guitar.

Top Sitka Spruce with a Black Walnut burl rosette

Back is Black Walnut bound in curly Maple

Peghead with the original Middlebrook turret logo

And a shot of the neck joint. The neck was some Black Walnut from Steve's dad's house across the street from our shop.

Thanks for looking and making my third guitar so much fun.

Default Ur First

I'll never forget seeing your first hanging up in the shop, being finished. Very well done and the curly maple bindings have been a favorite ever since...and absolutely MADE the ancient kauri!

Thanks guys!

Well, should we get one last vote in? You can see above I have some Gotoh mini tuners in chrome on the guitar currently. Should I put some Ebony buttons on them? They wouldn't be mini buttons, but they would match that jet black peghead.

About to string up, let me know!

2 votes Chrome, 1 vote Ebony buttons. I'm going to need more input than that! At this point our shop members can swing the vote. This guitar is yours AGF.
