I have played several GC edition Martins and liked every one of them. For the money, these are great guitars.
GC is also great at returns, should you not like one after ordering it. I would take the Martin over the Taylor everyday.

Well... I'll have to find one of these Larrivee's and play it for myself. Unfortunately non of the local shops around here have any right now. I'm traveling next week and I might have a chance to get my hands on one.
Thanks for the advice and suggestions |

I played a used GC edition of the Martin D (I think it was mahogany), and agree it was a really nice guitar. And to echo L20's point; you can't beat the GC returns policy.

I was in a similar position about a month ago and went with an Eastman 10D, no regrets. Was back and forth with a Larrivee D but the 1 3/4 nut on the Eastman, along with the types of wood/appointments made me lean that direction. That being said, I’m geared towards roots/bluegrass and not so much rock, but it’s a great guitar for that type money.
