Default Hey Hey My My - Neil Young

How many of you tune your acoustic guitars down a whole step to play this?

I guess the chords are in the key C but if you tune it down a whole step it's in Bb?

Cool song, easy to play and sing but all the different ways people play it are confusing me. One source says Key G, another key of C, another key of Am.

And then there's the electric guitar version.

WTH?

He has a few he tunes down a full step (e.g., Tell Me Why, Pardon My Heart)

I keep my Breedlove in this tuning and use a capo on 1 for the 1/2 step songs.

It's all good.

The electrified song is "Hey Hey, My My (Into The Black)," which actually attained #79 US Billboard in 1979.

I play the acoustic version "Hey Hey, My My (Out Of The Blue)"--credited as a collaborative composition by Neil Young and Jeff Blackburn--as a solo acoustic instrumental on a 1968 Stella Harmony H912 12-string tuned down a full step.

"Hey Hey, My My (Out Of The Blue)" is the B-side to the single 45rpm record "Hey Hey, My My (Into The Black)."

Thanks for the clarification.

The acoustic song is My My, Hey Hey (Out of the Blue). I play it in standard and with a C-Harp.
