I hope to experience those perks someday, LOL. Congrats on the RV and have fun exploring the outdoors with the kids and grandkids.

Thank you. I never thought these perks, or to be more honest, these circumstances would all align at this time of my life to be able to do these things with and for my family. My wife and I used to laugh about how far away retirement was, and in the blink of an eye it’s here! These perks are waiting for you too, Natural Life!

I'm ready! We are pushing hard to retire early. The pandemic set things back, but it also created some opportunities for us, reminding us that life's path is rarely the same as we plan it (and it's more interesting that way).

That’s a wonderful thing, but don’t be wishing your days away! They go by fast enough as it is. Bahahahaha

Amen! The whole notion of autonomy has driven me most of my adult life - do what I want, when I want.

Brought home the new camper today! This electronic/wi-fi braking system is so advanced. Foot pedal sensitivity and trailer brake bite are both set up on your phone. Set it and forget it, or change it while driving to suit the terrain you are traversing. We came home on very hilly Pennsylvania country roads and dialed in the brakes to match the roads. It was great!

The shake down run to Barnegat Bay was a success with no new trailer issues to speak of. The learning curve is pretty flat. As with everything in live, practice makes perfect.

This weekend we took our five year old grand to the Pocono mountains for a little fresh air and time away from mom and dad. This to was a very successful jaunt with no curve balls thrown our way. We have another small trip before we head for a campsite in Ohio to meet up with my son and daughter-in-law for a few days of fall weather camping.

Here’s a couple of pix from the last few days.

I agree 100%, hairpuller. My kids still talk of their childhood trips with great fondness. I am hoping to recreate this with my grandchildren!
I concur whole heartedly! My kids don’t remember the things we did or didn’t have, but they remember every vacation we took whether in tents or later in an RV. Ironically, my wife and I went camping for our honeymoon 42 years ago. I’m with you on retirement too. The pandemic forced the decision, but we are both very glad to be retired now, living the dream

My wife and I did a quick four day weekend to close out our 2021 RV season at the Buckeye Lake, Ohio KOA. This, we found to be, is a top notch KOA serving the RV community. We made fast friends and got to enjoy a pre Halloween costume night! We were so busy giving out candy to all the kids(easily 150 kids came by to trick or treat)we didn’t get pictures of the festivities. But no worries, we have already made reservations for the same weekend next year! I will be sure to photograph the happenings then, I promise.

Listen to the words in this song- I retired 11 years ago and made myself a promise; I'm not going to do anything I don't want to do- and I don't.

When I sing this, it is as real as real can be.
