@mountainmaster:
I considered the Abel armrest. It has a classier look, and I was convinced I was going to get it until I found the Armadillo. The things that made me not go with the Abel armrest:

Alternative:
Add the bevel to your arm. https://www.guitarwebshop.com/Armpads (Swiss site) The Luva have many styles, lengths, sizes. All with plastic insert so arm rests comfortably in that and there are no sharp edges to feel regardless of guitar. Feels different--some may or may not like it--but works well. A clever design. At least it's another possibility. Made in Brazil. Luva has their own Brazilian website with different prices, but I'm not sure how they are set up to order from currently. In the past, there was some language difficulties and so I purchased from Switzerland. [ http://www.matepis.com.br/EN/ ] The Swiss site worked well. Shipment was timely. It is entirely different than a shirt or even other elastic arm tubes sold to protect players forearms that are also sold to provide just a "bit" more protection. For some players, that minimal extra padding is enough. But the Luva takes it to another level of protection and comfort. There's really no comparison with other products that I've found. YMMV |

Yes indeed: YMMV. I normally wear long sleeve shirts and then I do not need an armrest at all. Just when it is hot and I am wearing short sleeves I lately found that those sharp edges are starting to bother me.
In this situation a thick armpad is only going to make things more hot and sweaty for me.

For me, even a thin long sleeve shirt at 95F (35C) is sticky and sweaty. The Luva sleeve is not 'that' much more uncomfortable. Whatever discomfort exists is offset by the benefit the edge protection it provides, IMO. Personal ability to deal with less than perfect comfort levels can vary greatly person to person, as always. It appears it is not valuable for your needs. |

Living in a climate with temperatures reaching 118 degrees I've learned to deal with less then perfect comfort levels; keeps me humble.

Hi AC,
I also use the Luva rigid arm pad. I purchased mine from Luthier Music Corporation in Manhattan, NY. I just looked for their url for it and found that they no longer carry the arm pad. Barb |

Not to mention the age factor. When I was young I could not even imagine ever needing accessories like these.

The Abel worked well on my Shorty but did not fit the WS(too deep). FWIW

Body depth should not be a problem because the current standard size is 92 to 137 mm (3.62 to 5.39 inch). Anyway, I think I will go for the Armadillo.

I got my Armadillo armrest today. The suction cups are holding fine on the satin finish of my Rainsong while I am playing.
However, when I put the guitar back in its stand with the Armadillo still attached the armrest comes off after a while. During a gig that could be a problem but since I mainly play at home I don't mind.
