Looking for advice: Side-mount preamps found on eBay

Dear All,

Looking for some quality side-mount preamps which are typically produced and sold directly to guitar manufacturers and are NOT available for sales.....

However, such such preamps are found for sale on eBay....
Preamp producers state that these are copies, not originals ...

Does anyone have purchased these ones on eBay? are they original ? are they fake ? what is the real quality of such side-mount preamps found on eBay ?

I had a Prener-LC output module that went bad on a lower end guitar. I purchased a replacement on eBay that included the pre-amp, output module and under saddle pickup for dirt cheap from a seller in China. It is definitely not as good as the unit I replaced. I doubted it would be when I purchased it but I thought it was worth a shot for the price. I saw the same unit listed at 10 times the price from US sellers but I don't know if these would be better quality or not. I would recommend being careful with Chinese units since these may be inferior copies based on my experience.

These are side-mount preamp models of Fishman, B-Band and other recognizable manufacturer names, who DO NOT sell such devices on the retail market, those preamps are sold ONLY to guitar manufacturers ......

However, you will find dozens of that Fishmans, B-Bands etc ..... and the eBay shops and sellers state 'they guarantee' the preamps to be originals .....

It's quiet hard to understand where is the truth....

Does anyone have bought such side-mount preamps?

I've discussed this directly with Fishman.

These are counterfeit items, mostly made in China.

What is the guarantee? Money back to include shipping? Otherwise there is no guarantee. These are almost certainly Chinese copies that are not worth the price they are being sold for. You get what you pay for.
