Default Beginner Songs

I've been practicing the basic chords of a guitar and can transition fairly well now after quite a bit of practice. I've been trying to find easy songs to play but i haven't found any. Can you give me some input on what to try to learn first? What was your first song? Thanks.

It all depends what songs you like. Of the top of my head here are some easy songs:

Neil Young:
Down By The River
After The Gold Rush
Don't Let It Bring You Down
Sugar Mountain
Old Man

Marshal Tucker Band:
Can't You See
Fire On the Mountain

Lynyrd Skynyrd:
Sweet Home Alabama

Arlo Guthrie:
Comin' Into Los Angeleez
City of New Orleans

America:
Sandman
Horse w/ No Name
Lonely People

Eagles:
Hotel California

Eric Clapton:
Bell Bottom Blues
Running on Faith
Bad Love

Grateful Dead:
Friend of the Devil
Franklins Tower
I know You Rider
Me & My Uncle
Jackaroe
Cassidy
too many to list but 90% of their stuff is manageable.

Pink Floyd:
Comfortably Numb
Wish You Were Here
Mother

Simon & Garfunkel:
Mrs. Robinson
The Boxer (this can get a little hard)

Steve Miller Band:
Take the Money and Run

The list goes on obviously....for the most part, if you are comfortably changing chords and can manage pretty good rhythm, most rock/classic rock/folk tunes are pretty easy.

Try http://www.guitartabs.cc/home.php for just about any tab/chord sheet you need.

John Mellancamp - Pink Houses

G, C, D, and F

Doesn't get any easier than this one.

Do you have any idea how many songs are out there w/ G C D F as the chords. It's just rearranged, strummed differently along w/ a different melody. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

What's up porscheguy,

Pink Floyd - Breathe was the very 1st song I learned.
I use www.olga.net for most of my tabs, or if I can't find a song there (or don't like the version they have up) I go to yahoo.com, and in search type "<artist name> <song name> tabs" and I get all the results I need.
