Thanks for sharing your heart Mr. Womak! I say Mr. as a form of respect, as I respect you and your wife for your commitment to each other that has obviously yielded a truly satisfying marriage as an example to others. Deepest thanks and congrats!

Wow, what a great storyteller you are. Congratulations on creating such a meaningful life with the depths of partnership guiding it all. You two look innocently beautiful in that picture, but your portrait of a marriage was eminently more so.

Thank you very much for your kind words everyone! I really consider myself the luckiest guy on the planet. By the way, that picture hung in the window of the photographer's shop for ten years, until the photographer retired. That has to be due to the beauty of the bride.

Congratulations and thanks for sharing!

My folks just celebrated their 50th two months ago. Dad was 19 and Mom was 20. Craziness!!!

I have a theory about that, that you touched on when you said you softened eachother's sharp edges. Back in the day when people married young - I don't think they were "set in their ways" so much, making it easier to learn to be with someone.

Anyway, congratulations again on getting it right (and the FIRST time, to boot!)

Congrats Bob and Mrs. Bob! We're coming up on 37 years ourselves, and I still don't deserve her.
It was good to get the storms out of the way early, even if it did mess up the honeymoon a bit.

Thank you. That is a scan from our wedding album. The original is a low light, high-noise, low contrast color pic. So you add it together - specs from the scan, low light and contrast, and forty years worth of color fade. That's a lot to correct. I decided I could possibly get a better effect by reducing it to black and white. That seemed a little stark so I took into to sepia. I actually tweaked around for a while before I was happy. The first person who saw it took one look and said, "I hate sepia. It's so cliche'." It's nice to get a second opinion.
