Both are super well made guitars, so it gives me a great comparison between scales length. As you can see the cutaway actually give me easier access to the higher frets than my dred. Its no little 12 fretter it booms and has the volume of the dred with maybe a little to spare,

I think cedar would be a SUBLIME top for a 12 fret guitar!

I have a Taylor GC 12 fret. I love the way it fits in my lap. Playing up near the nut is a little tight because of the break angel of the slotted peg head. When using a capo past the 5th fret my hands gets a little scrunched. It sounds heavenly with a very light touch. I love this guitar (322ce 12 fret V- class) but I wouldn't want it to be my only guitar.

I like the arm / elbow angle better on 12 frets. It makes more leverage and ergonomic sense to me. The downside is that not all guitars are made in 12 fretters.

I love short scale 12 fret guitars! The position of my left arm makes me feel much more comfortable when playing compared to a guitar with fourteen frets and a long scale. Now I have a parlor guitar and a Dread Sloped Shoulder, and despite the difference in size, both are very comfortable.

For me, it makes a big difference whether I'm sitting or standing. I typically play in the seated position. I am right-handed and with my 14-fret guitars, I typically seat them on my right thigh. With 12-fret guitar, I have to resort to a classical guitar position. The downside to that is I need a smaller OO or even an O to deal with that seating position.

When standing with the use of a strap, 12-fret guitars work better for me. My good friend now uses a strap on his 12-fret guitar regardless of whether he is sitting or standing. Seems I'll be heading in that direction too as I age.
