Thank you Marty!

You are too kind!

Thanks for the good wishes on our anniversary! We both feel very fortunate to have found the right person and to have lived long enough to reach this milestone.

Thanks, too, for the kind words on my song cover performance! It means such a great deal coming from you! I know that you are already plenty grown up!

I really appreciate your watching and your taking time to comment and lend support! It's greatly appreciated!

I hope all is well for you and your lovely wife! Be well, Marty!

Great song choice Glenn, along with the usual excellent performance and production. Congrats on the anniversary,!
When are you going to use your production skills to capture the wife singing harmony?

Hi John,

Thank you so much for taking time to comment here! I'm very pleased that you thought this came across well.

And thanks, too, for anniversary congratulations! We both feel very fortunate.

It would be nice to have my wife do one of these videos with me, but that is just not in the cards. I know when to leave things as they are.

And besides, this video was something I could do to honor her after all these years. She really appreciated it.

I hope all is well for you, John! Be well!

Glen,

BTW, "What can I say... another great performance?" was supposed to be:
"What can I say... another great performance!". Only had one cup of coffee this morning while I was typing.

Hi Glenn,

Wonderful!

I have been a big fan since his first album, and was lucky to attend several concerts before his early death.

Your version of this song is very true to Dan’s spirit and I commend you greatly!

Happy belated anniversary to you and yours ❤️

Best,

Thank you Bob!

I'm so glad you like my version of this great song! I wish I had the chance to see Dan Fogelberg perform live. I know I would have greatly appreciated the experience!

Thanks for your kind words on my cover and on our anniversary! Much appreciated!

And I hope all is well for you, Bob!

Today is my wife and my 52nd wedding anniversary. So, I wanted to do a song that had meaning for both of us. Decades ago we sang at dozens of wedding ceremonies every year and "Longer" was a song we sang many, many times. I think this is one of Dan Fogelberg's best songs.

The main guitar, my Olson SJ, sounds like it has a huge chorus effect on it because I actually played the same guitar part a 2nd time and panned one guitar recording full left and the other full right in the stereo image. This is similar to the original Dan Fogelberg recording. The guitar is in open G tuning.

For the solo string parts at the song introduction and for the French horn solo, I used my Gerald Sheppard GA guitar to play these parts. The Sheppard is in standard tuning.

And I sang the harmony parts my wife usually sang in our younger days, so that was a challenge as the parts get pretty high.

Thank you for watching! I hope all is well for you, wherever you are!

- Glenn
That's excellent Glenn and as usual a top class recording to my ears.
