Default Roy Clark has died... RIP

He was 85. He died from complications from pneumonia.

His version of Ghost Riders in the Sky was one of my earliest experiences with virtuoso guitar playing. Thanks for the memories, Roy. Godspeed.

when I was a kid before any major exposure he blew my mind on guitar. Always was a great entertainer as well, may he rest in peace and his family be well

Made it to 85 years. Him on the Hee Haw show was one of my inspirations to take up acoustic guitar.

Roy Clark was a multi-instrumental musical genius. A banjo and guitar maestro. Mandolin and fiddle, too, of course. A very underrated singer; and a superlative entertainer.

Among my favorite Roy Clark instrumental interpretations--12th Street Rag from Johnny Cash & Friends, a television special that originally aired in the US on August 29, 1976:
