Default Unbleached bone

Do any of you find that unbleached bone chips and fractures less than bleached bone when used for nuts? Any downside to using unbleached components (if you find the color acceptable)?

When I saw through or file the edges of bleached bone, it does tend to chip, if I'm not careful, whereas unbleached is slippery and resilient. I find bleached bone takes less effort to work with.
