Default Bose S1 subwoofer? Possible.

Quick question for Bose S1 users:

Is there any available Bose's "Subwoofer" that can be used along for Bose S1 to fill some Low?Thanks.

If not then any other brands (light weight) that will WORK with Bose S1?

The Bose F1 Subwoofer but at 55 lbs, it probably isn't what you're looking for! On a smaller and lighter scale, you could buy a Bose B1 Subwoofer ($299) and power it with a Bose PackLite A1 Power Amplifier ($399). I'm thinking Bose should come out with a powered subwoofer for the Bose S1 as this would compel many buyers to buy this complete system.

Thanks so much for the info. And "Bose B1 Subwoofer ($299) and power it with a Bose PackLite A1 Power Amplifier ($399)". It seems like overkill (moneywise) for me to use with S1 ($600). And yeah, F1 is quite heavy compares to Bose S1 itself :-)

Check out this thread over on the BosePro forum:
https://www.bosepro.community/g/port...-Pro-Subwoofer

The 12" Behringer B1200D Pro was suggested because it has a high pass filter on its output.
You put it ahead of the S1 so the S1 doesn't need to waste its energy trying to reproduce the lows.
For reference the Behringer B1200D Pro costs about $299.

This is not a solution to all issues obviously and has limitations, but read the thread.

Hope this helps, cheers. _Roger

Umm... you pretty much described a Bose L1C. I like the sound of the S1; but if you need more reach and bass, check out the L1 Compact.

Ha, I also have L1 Compact. And of course it needs T1 (that I also have) to help control its basic/bland sound. But I'm kind of wanted to fooling around with any small/light subwoofer to make S1 sound more full. Thanks Jim for your reminder and it seems like you are correct in some respect, too :-)

I happened to play my S1 with a recording of a harp guitar this week - omigod, was that nice! A vast improvement over what I use to use. I've always been behind it before. There was surprising bass and tinkling highs, and everything in-between - that harp guitar must have had 5 or more octaves.

At ~28 lbs the Fishman SA Sub should be about perfect for the S1:

Add a subwoofer pole and you have a nice compact system with extra bottom end.

I think this is the best solution. I used to run one B1200D with 2 L1 compact and it was good. The electronics have everything and more you need for a good setup with the S1. No extra gear needed. You just use the mixer of the S1. Ut you can still use the first 2 channels for signals that don't need the sub.
Also the B1200D fits because of it's weight and size.

+1 for the B1200D. I've used it with a pair of Alto Troupers and will now try it with the S1. It works great and is a lot of 'bang for the buck'.

Thanks so much, I always have faith in Fishman amp and still have some of them. I'll check it out for sure. Another best part for this one is the weight (less than 30 lb), I'm 72 and no longer want to lug those heavy stuffs around anymore :-)

This one is also very interesting, and particularly nice pricing but may be a little bit heavy for me (at the age of 72). Thanks for took time and letting me know :-)

I was curious about this too, now that I got my S1s replaced. Does the Fishman Sub have high pass filters so just the higher frequencies go to the Bose? It says low pass filter, I guess I'm confused as to if that is the same thing. It doesn't specifically say it has a crossover, just a filter?

Unlike the Behringer, the Fishman sub passes everything through.
