'56 0-18 Shade-top
1956 0-18 shade-top player’s guitar
Here is a great old Martin 0-18 ready to play. The work done on it is as follows: neck-set re-fret top cracks & back crack cleated replacement gotoh butterbean tuners original pick guard removed & flattened & re-installed The saddle, bridge & bridge-plate are original to the best of my knowledge. The finish is crackled with plenty of vintage mojo, but most likely was over-sprayed once upon a time. I noticed that there is a divet on the saddle at the 3rd string from years of wear. This causes there to be a slight buzz on that string if not tensioned all the way up to a concert pitch, where it disappears. The guitar has scratches & dings, & is just a vintage battle axe with all of its scars & signs of being prodigiously used for the past 65 years, as a guitar should be. Maybe, that is why it sounds so good. I am the second owner, having purchased it from the daughter of the original owner, her mother, whom I was told played country & western oldies, Tammy Wynette, Conway Twitty, Patsy Cline, etc. I only sell guitars when I am shuffling them around to make room for something new, but, they are all loved, & great guitars. I try to describe things accurately, but, I rely on the photos to inform the looker, please study the photos & ask if you have questions. This guitar has obviously been to many rodeos, & would make an excellent travel instrument that doesn’t need to be babied. $3750 net to me + shipping in a generic Guardian case. https://reverb.com/item/37481042-mar...firmation=true Last edited by ezmansky; 01-18-2021 at 08:37 AM.
