Default Time To Update Your Bose S1 Firmware

Just did it. Version 7.0.10 is the new firmware. It is available from the Bose on the Bose Pro Community website. It's for folks who purchased their unit before May 10th, 2018.

http://toonz.ca/bose/wiki/index.php?...System_Updates

You need a USB cable that has the mini plug on one end that fits into the back of your S1. You download the updater then everything is done with a click right from their website.

This enables you to use the Bose Connect App that you can download to your phone or tablet. You can manage your connections on up to two devices and you can add a second Bose S1 for more of a "Stereo" effect.

Yep, since May 2018 I would guess. I just didn’t know about it until today. Maybe I missed the memo.

Can you see anything else with the Bose app? Like battery life?

Yes, battery life is there. The music that is currently playing is displayed as well.

I also own a pair of Bose wireless earbuds. It’s the same app that is used for those. It also goes beyond for other Bose wireless products as well.

PLEASE inform me if I'm incorrect, BUT..

Using the app, you control Channel 3 ONLY - the pre-recorded music?

The app does NOT address Channels 1 & 2, right?

IF 1 & 2 are included, hopefully with a MASTER volume.. THEN I would be all over it!

I would appreciate a confirm, either way please.. THANKS!

The new features are all Bluetooth related but they are very nice.

You can now do stereo Bluetooth between two S1s or dual mono for when they are in different rooms.

You can also preset multiple (eight I believe) pairings and have any two of them active at the same time. No you can’t play your iPad and phone and have two songs blaring at once, but you can be listening to your phone, pause or stop the song, and then immediately start playing a song from your iPad. Then when you stop that song, start the music from your phone again!

If you are on your phone and want to switch the second pairing from you iPad to your computer, you can switch the second pairing from your phone (or any other device). This is way easier than it usually is to juggle multiple pairings.

This first update you need to do with the updater from your computer with a USB cable and the downloaded updater. Subsequent firmware updates will be done wirelessly from the app.

Well said. This is it. Channels one and two are not controlled by Bluetooth. It would be nice though.

Just received my S1 Pro from Bestbuy on July 27. I thought the firmware would have been updated already, but I didn't see my S1 on the Connect app until after I updated the firmware online.

Your unit could have been in stock for awhile.
