I use my line 6 HX Stomp right into my EV Evolve 50M, and it sounds great.

You know, I find the Zoom G1Four sounds pretty good through my Array PA..
I guess what I'm asking myself is there something else that sounds better and easier to adjust quickly at a gig?? Without opening a line of credit ? lol
I'd like to keep the foot print small with a volume pedal would be nice
Boss GT1 ??

I'm bagging the idea of the Zoom G2Four because of the software problem and I'm not paying for software that should be free

Roland Boss just recently came out with the ME-90 at about $350. I have an older ME-70. These units are set up more like a pedal board, where you are not dealing with menus. They are easy to use and sound good.

I use a variety of guitars - acoustic, resonator, electric, lapsteel and weissenborn, depending on the gig/jam and often switching between a couple at a time.
I liked the idea of a multi-fx unit and tried a couple - but having to setup presets/menu dive was a major PIA so I ditched it. I like being able to bend down and tweak on the fly.
On the other hand, having multiple pedals and having add/remove/rearrange my board is also a pain. Then if something wasn't working having to trouble shoot patches cables, power cables, pedals (and sometimes plugging them in incorrectly....).
In my case, I'm looking to get the NUX Trident as it has XLR outs, and I like the layout better. But the same idea.

Sometimes I use an old Yamaha DG Stomp. Amazing tone through a PA system. Has a couple effects.

When Mrs. Tinnitus still worked, her employer comped us tickets to see/hear California Guitar Trio in a small theater with great acoustics, a nice treat. (I actually liked them a lot more than the ultra-serious high-speed intensity of McLoughlin, DiMeola and De Lucia.)

Mid-show, the CGT fellows paused for a few minutes to tell us about their instruments and demo 3 identical multi-effects pedals (which were amazing). Kind of cool, since I've never seen another act do anything like that regarding their gear - extra nice for any other guitar players in the audience.

This was at least a decade ago, maybe more. Since they don't seem remotely secretive about their gear, a diligent interweb search might reveal some info about what they've used over the years.

Checking out(video-reviews) the IK Tonex, Boss IR200, DSM Humboldt Electronics Simplifier mk2 maybe some others, maybe the Walrus Acs1
I like the small form factor like the Zoom I have.. desktop use
Not sure I need something so robust as the IR200 and Tonex but it might be fun...
Mainly used for recording, home practice and limited gig use...

There are innovators, and there are imitators - old Lester had that angle covered a half-century ago :

- and back in the early-50's when the concept of processed guitar was cutting-edge, Les wasn't above exercising his inimitable sense of humor to muddy the waters a little bit :

Got the UA Dream 65 first.... I've had a few days
Thoughts:

Sounds good and using the cell app you can bring up a bunch of different sounds/amps

It's noisy and this is the number 1 reason why I'm sending it back
The hum only gets louder when the gain/output is turned up(I tried several power supplies)

Bassy with my PA had to turn the bass all the way down(Don't have a Mixer on my PA) and would need to bring a mixer for the best results

No. 2 reason.......My Zoom G1Four can sound as good and in some ways I prefer it over the Dream (More available adjustments and no mixer needed, runs on batteries or USB)

The NUX MG30 should be here Monday

I'm happiest with a Strat or Tele plugged into a few pedals (overdrive, 'verb, trem) plugged into a good tube amp.

Hate those digital multi-effect things. I don't like spending time jabbing or spinning when I could be playing.

My mixing board has a lot of built-in effects, but I don't use any of them. Don't need 'em, don't want 'em.
