Rediscovered another old friend
I was thinking I wanted an electric more like my acoustic so I got a Taylor electric (which I still love) and put my trusty old beloved Gibson in"storage".
I built up a nice pedalboard and have been "chasing tone". On a whim, I pulled out my old Gibson and was floored and blown away. THIS was the tone I've bene chasing - right here in my case on a shelf, all along. My Taylor is actually easier to play, but man my Gibson sounds magically perfect.

Understood - they are both set up to my preferences. I just love the feel of the Taylor neck and the short scale and the fretboard geometry a little better.
I can't get that set up from my Gibson, although it sounds much better. I am going to enjoy both for a while and experiment (again) with some different pickup combinations in my Taylor. I might even copy the Gibson pickup arrangement and make a custom pickup set.
