I think a Gibson ES-135, ES-137 might be what you are looking for. Both are semi-hollow with a single cutaway, with a body size that will feel somewhat familiar. If you want a double cutaway body, there are many choices. You cannot go wrong with a Gibson ES-335, but the Epiphone Sheraton, Sire H7 and Ibanez Artstars are also very nice.

I bought some kind of Ibanez hollowbody a couple years ago from Sweetwater. It was a really cool guitar but would only hold tune for about 5 seconds. All this after their multi-point inspection, setup, etc, etc. I never understood how they set it up when there was a piece of foam under the bridge? Anyway, I called them and their solution was to try and sell me a fancy set of locking tuners. I sent back the guitar and will never buy anything from them again.
