Default Santa Cruz F - Maple/sitka - Sold

Some new stuff has me drooling - so I am offering a few of my goodies for sale (no trades!) -

This is a beautiful 1991 Santa Cruz model F, custom woods, with a beautiful 1-13/16" maple neck. Wonderful maple voice. in very good condition, especially for a well played and loved guitar thats a full 29 years old. But if you want new, and perfect, look elsewhere. A very special vintage instrument -

If I’m not mistaken, this guitar was made When Roy McAlister was at SCGC, voicing tops.

That may well be! You wouldn't have a picture of how he signed his tops, would you? I am trying to collect a database of top signatures from various luthiers who've worked at SCGC over the years -

No, but I remember David Crosby had a few SCGC instruments that he loved, looked inside to see who signed the tops and discovered they were the same person. He asked Richard Hoover to look in one of the guitars he had and then asked who it was who had voiced them. It was Roy, who had recently struck out on his own. I think this is documented somewhere in an issue of Acoustic Guitar in the years 2000. It's the one with Crosby on the cover.

Although, if you email a pic of the signature, they might be able to tell you who it is.

I always look for early 90's SCGC as they generally have great voices.
