Default Tom Doerr Solace - *SOLD*

A sound sample from a few days ago and now I'm realizing that the guitar probably needs new strings to give it that high end zing that new strings would provide. At any rate, here is a clip, again with my daughter entering into the fray as I record.

And the sound sample from more than a few days ago.

So I'm selling for $SOLD without pickup.

Just played it the other day and said to myself, I'm crazy to even let this go. But times as they are, I'm set up with too many guitars and often something doesn't get played enough which is the case of this guitar. So, again I say, this is one heck of a guitar and you've got to experience it in person to fully appreciate.

Video: https://youtu.be/GqpTksrUtFI

Added a video of this guitar recorded with three mics, no FXs except FabFilter L2 Limiter to increase volume. Did not use pickup when recorded, however that would have made for a really huge bass if I had. If you like a really deep bass sound, this one has it in spades.

Tom Doerr makes an incredible guitar and this one is exceptional. Deep clear bass with strong mids and trebles, this one has it all. Soundboard is Swiss spruce with some mild bearclaw, binding is curly koa, back and sides are Indian Rosewood. Tuners are Gotoh 510s with Ebony buttons. Scale length is 25.4" and nut width is 1 3/4". String spacing at saddle: 2 1/4". Neck profile is a C which is very consistent up toward the guitar body. Build date is 2007.

The sound on this is incredible. Huge bass followed by big mid-range and trebles. Truly a remarkable sounding guitar.

DIMENSIONS

Upper Bout 11.125″
Lower Bout 16.25″
Length of Box 20.5″
Depth of Neck Blocks 3.625″
Depth of Tail Block 4.5″
Scale Length 25.4″

Unfortunately, there is some de-lamination which is a fancy word for finish lifting around the neck joint and just barely around the tuners. This is due to a problem with the finish that was used when building the guitar. There is no other de-lamination on the guitar and most likely this will not be a problem going forward, however, Tom Doerr offers a very reasonable refinishing option to anyone wanting to go that route.

Also, I added fret markers to the fretboard for easier viewing.

Currently the guitar has a very powerful Schertler M-AG6 pickup installed with the additional microphone. This is a $350 upgrade including installation and is not included in the sale, however will sell separately for $200.

Again, this is really an amazing guitar.. one must try one of these big body instruments. Deep gorgeous bass, thick trebles, and lively mid-range.

So, strings are off the neck?
Perhaps that's a measurement at the body or saddle position?

BTW, what type of finish is used, that is delaminating?

Width at saddle is 2.25”

Finish is a type of poly, not easily fixed or as forgiving as other finishing materials.
