I, too, was too impatient at first for a custom but now I savor the process ... The longer the more enjoyment! And you will enjoy a guitar from The Tree!

This thread will end like an afternoon at a japanese massage parlor....

I am sure at the end, you will have this amazing guitar that everyone drools over and you are one happy guitar player! There are so many amazing builders to choose from...

I initially wanted to commission two "modest cousins" but finally settled for a fully decked out guitar with Paua all over the place. If I'm lucky, I'll grab its cousin next year.

Next on my list is a Petros. The man didn't threaten to retire so I figured he could wait another year or two...

I can’t wait to see some pictures! I love the Mahogany/Cedar combo and using The Tree will make it even better!

Congrats!

LOL....Well all the names I have seen sound pretty good to me... so sounds like you have a winner anyway. My wife says its the wood that makes it good. And she likes guitars too LOL

I've finally communicated my final specs to Jim Olson and supplemented my initial deposit.

I went with pretty much all of the options, except for two -- no vine inlay on the headstock and no paua back perimeter.

Christmas will be fun this year.

SJ non cutaway
"The Tree" mahogany back and sides
Cedar top
Abalone top edging
Abalone back center strip
Abalone end wedge borders
Headstock paua perimeter
Peghead back mahogany veneer with WBW
Paua in-filled "O" on headstock
Fingerboard paua perimeter
42 style fingerboard extension
Full vine inlay on fingerboard
Wide paua/BRW rosette
Thicker neck
Satin gold tuners with ebony buttons
No strap button
No pick up
No pick guard
Calton deluxe case

Ah! Didn't realize you had already established this thread earlier in the year. Just found it. Wow, that's some amazing figure on that mahogany, as was expected. Looking forward to watching this develop.

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Beautiful Olsons all decked out with bling
These are a few of my favorite things

I think that's how the song goes
