Here's a 60s Beatles tune that they considered a "throw-away", but certainly better than anything I could write.

It's Only Love

( Hate that guitar face )

By the way, how does one embed a Youtube video here? Just adding the embed info didn't work.

I don't many songs from the decade, but this is one of my favorite: the country ballad "Saginaw, Michigan" by Lefty Frizzell (1964). Again, disclaimers: I'm not a professional and I'm not all that great of a singer either. Oh well. It was kind of fun to do.

Nice! These days the dad up in Alaska would have the better deal!

Pretty cool! Doing solo Moody Blues would never have entered my mind. I don't think I'd have the guts for it!

Wikipedia article statement about this song:

"... I've Just Seen a Face' was almost pure country, taken at such a fast tempo that it might have been bluegrass if not for the absence of banjo and fiddle."

Guess you put the banjo back in and it sounded great.

The was a great song, Paul. I haven't heard much Gram Parsons. He sure knew how to write.

I really liked your interpretation of that song, Paul!

Gram Parsons turned a lot of us in a right angle from our rocker days toward country music back in the day. His light burned briefly with the Byrds, the last of the CSNY groups I mentioned as my formative influences back in the '60s.

Here's a cover of a Byrds song written by Gram.

Hickory Wind

... From long ago and far away...

Warren, if you like Gram, get a copy of "Return of the Grievous Angel".

There are some talented people on this forum. When I listen to all your contributions I wish that I would be able to sing. I have been playing instrumentals at weddings, doing some open Mics and I have given cooking demonstrations on TV but when it comes to singing I just can't bring up the nerve.
Anyway, this one is a cover of Leo Kottke's Watermelon. It's from the 1969 album 6 and 12 String Guitar.

That one I've heard. Nice job! I'll check out that album.

My take on a Merle Haggard song released in 1969, "Silver Wings"

Please provide some playing, singing, recording tips as I'm a beginner at all three. I firmly believe these contests and recordings have helped me improve. Thanks!

Default Buffalo Springfield: For What It's Worth

This is a collaboration with Sonya and Shuie (misspopanoche)
I sent them my raw microphone recording and they upholstered it with their Buffalo magic as follows:
Sonya did the 'morse' electric dub on her Les Paul copy, the handclaps and the high harmony.
Shuie played the Fenderbass, lead guitar and sang low harmony. He also put an extra high harmony on the final chorus.
