seriously, I thought that a microchip in a fitness band or a watch would have sufficed, without having to implant it.

I joke with my wife about putting a GPS tracking chip in our daughter, now 11 months old and has started walking like she is doing a marathon.

For now I'm just remembering to strap my Apple Watch on each morning and take my phone.

We have used the Find My Friends app between our family and one of their grandmothers. My brother's needed that technology to know where his kid is for entirely different and less fun that us. I'm sure my mom would have loved it on me at a point in teenage years when my choices were not as good as later.

Honestly, the tracking technology has helped our daughter be independent in ways some parents don't allow. My mother does a heck of a lot for her age and appreciates knowing this could help if she's in trouble.

Meh. My phone does 95% of what they're talking about already. Not sure what the advantage would be. My phone I can turn off.

I wanted to say absolutely not, and when I checked out the article, and especially the eyes on the dude holding the chip-- I was sure I didn't want it.

But I also remember the time when didn't want a cell phone, or a smart phone, or a smart watch, or "Alexa". Left the cell phone in my car for a long time. But now I'm plugged in like nearly everyone else in my orbit. So if all the cool kids are doing it I'm certainly susceptible, especially if it is free or nearly so.

I still voted probably not. It's creepy

Nope. Not because of the chip or data security, etc. I just wouldn't put that in my hands. My hands stay busy and I can see that being a constant irritant. In my earlobe? Sure, whey not. But my hands? No way.

If the chip could control my hand and it could be programed to help it finger pick really well, I'd give it really serious consideration...

I voted "maybe". It would depend on the purpose of the chip.

For some reason, this reminds me of that scene in Idiocracy where the doctor freaks out because Luke Wilson doesn't have a barcode tattoo.

If I go senile and start wandering off my wife can make that decision.
