Cute idea, but that's not a canary.
Commonly called a parakeet, this type of parakeet is a budgie, short for budgerigar.
It ain't no canary.
Like many canaries, parakeets also come in solid yellow, but this parakeet isn't a yellow one.
Even then, the yellow parakeets still don't look anything like a canary.

I don't expect BBC's editors to have a Ph.D in ornithology, but ... calling a budgie a canary? ... Really?

Admittedly I am into pet birds, but is knowing the difference between a canary and a parakeet really specialized knowledge?

I know, I know ... first world problem, right?

Those of us who followed Dirk’s thread were flummoxed that any sentient entity could score lower than 100% on the fact/opinion survey. But according to the data, a lot of adults—and many geezers—would take Tico’s perhaps unreasonable insistence that the yellow bird in his picture is a canary as Tico’s opinion. The article he cited is of a contrary opinion.
