what gauge strings on Emerald X7?
I looked on their website but could not locate the string gauge on the X7. Anybody know?

I’m pretty sure it came with 12-something. I mostly stick to 12-54 (or 12-51 when I play Newtones), but I’ve played 11’s on mine and even had a leftover set of 10’s on it for a few days once. It’s a short enough scale it should be fine with 13’s if that’s what you like.

I'm thought they shipped with mediums but I really can't remember now as it's been several months since I got mine. I'm pretty sure they were D'Addario EXP16's which are lights so that's probably more likely. I know I've been using John Pearse 'New Mediums' which is a bit of a hybrid, .013-.055". Those work great.

As a general rule, short scale guitars will do better with medium gauge strings 56-13) to keep the tension up. My wife prefers light gauge on her X7 and it doesn't seem to suffer tonally.
