Default X-30 picked up today!!!

Glad to report that I've officially picked up my new x-30 today and I could not be happier!!!

First things first, I've had an x20 and an x10. Enjoyed my 20 but always wished it was louder and deeper. The 10 is great for ergonomics and so good to practice on at home when the kids are down. Now the 30...this thing is exactly what I've always wanted. It doesn't feel huge but just feels like a normal wood dreadnought size. Sound wise, O M G! I'm blown away. The bass is killer on this thing. I usually do chords in a small group setting with vocals so this is perfect! The new fretboard is gorgeous too! And the feel of it is much better than before. They said it's uni directional and should help the sound too. It's also made of carbon but has a silver woody appearance.

I do think emerald needs to work on their quality control though. I was disappointed to find some major blemishes on the guitar which really surprised me. Luckily they were able to just polish it down. I imaging it is because they have ramped up their production and are working overtime to get all the guitars made but still hate to see this because I really want emerald to thrive as a company and quality control might really hurt them if they don't reign it in asap.

Now one thing I must mention is the amicus is incredible!! I also got to play an x30-12 string which absolutely blew me away. That thing sounds amazing and really is not hard to play at all like I imagined. Same with the fan frets. So easy to adapt to. My next custom will be definitely something fan fret and 12 string.

Wish I could pist pictures since I got to take a selfie in their stock room. Muahahhaa. Lots of goodies in there...

I'm jealous that you got to visit the factory and pick up your guitar. How cool! ------ My curiosity is piqued about the new matte finish fret board. All of my CF guitars have glossy fret boards.

Posting your selfie would be nice, but I don't even need pictures, since I can look on my living room wall and see my own red X30. Now that my shoulder is healing it may even be possible to play it again. I have been test playing the X7 first then the X20, and X20 worked fine. Eventually.....

Excellent post! U are lucky indeed to be able to pick it up. How cool ....I've always dreamed of something like that. A few years ago I had a semi-custom Heritage H-555 made (Heritage is a guitar maker inhabiting the old Gibson factory in Kalamazoo), and got to go pick it up in person and get a factory tour...very cool.

My X30 was done about 3 weeks ago, but apparently they are having a resource constraint on the Hiscox cases....booo! Stuff happens I guess....(Kevin said maybe by end of week), but super excited that very soon a care package will be over the pond towards Chicago. I ordered in mid October, so about 7 months ago.

Cheers...

Alistair took care of that himself. They have a team of guys who work in production though. Each handles a different part.

Didn't post any pictures of the guitar itself since it can be seen here :

Someone needs to start a sock collection. Start with Jim's and I'll send mine. Given the instruments coming out of Ireland I'm amazed that any one on this forum has a any socks left.

I guess I'm officially a lurker now - but anyhow, I really like the look (and I imagine, feel) of that matte fretboard. Is it still CF?
P.S. Great selfie. Room full of guitars, what more could one want?
