Great stuff, Glenn! And here I thought you were just a mild-mannered forum moderator, a mere mortal like the rest of us!

I thoroughly enjoyed your interpretation. I love Jim Croce and Time In A Bottle so I was worried when you offered up that yours would be 'your interpretation' but in my opinion you captured the essence of the song very well while applying your own take on a classic.

It worked and it worked very well. Thanks for sharing. Love that guitar too and I'm generally not a Gibson guy!

Thank you so much for your comments and for listening Methos! I'm glad you liked my interpretation.

When I decided to learn this song, I thought to myself, how about you don't listen to Jim Croce and see what you can do with this song based on what you remember from 45 years ago? So I just worked out something based on the Dm song structure and this is what I came up with. Recently, I actually listened to Jim Croce's version, and I thought -- whoa! I like that, too! But I had already recorded this and thought -- oh well, it's a different take on the same song.

I like the Gibson Advanced Jumbo, also. I like it even better with slightly mellower PB strings on it today instead of the 80/20 strings that I had on the guitar for the recording. It's even a little richer sounding now with PB strings. It's a very nice guitar!

I did my own interpretation of Operator some years back. You've inspired me to revisit that song. I'm better than I was back then so maybe I can do it better justice!

So Nice, Glenn. Very, very moving rendition with superb voices (both yours and the Gibson's).

You mentioned it was done two years ago...any more to share for our privilege since then??

Operator is a great song, the first song I heard Jim Croce on that I remember. You should revisit the song; who knows what you could do with it now!
