Playing with a progression
So I was noodling around with some chords and I like a I vi IV V iii progression to the point I felt inspired to maybe write a song around it. I know that the I vi IV V is fairly common, but adding that minor third chord at the end gives it an emotional twist I really enjoy. How unoriginal am I? Lol!

Sorry. Not much. I like to noodle around with country rag sounding guitar which uses allot of 7ths instead of minors. So....
I, IV, V I, ii, IV, V I, vi, ii, IV, V I, iii, vi, ii, IV, V These are all very standard changes

Thanks! My tune is in C, so it goes from C to Am back and forth (adding a Cadd9 and Esus4/A to add a bit of something something), then I go F, G, Em, and back to C, and play that for a few bars, and then resolve to the C and Am thing. It’s pleasing to my ear but I wanna add a bit more complexity to it. So in essence, the progression is I, vi and then IV, V, iii, I. |
