I liked The Peripheral. A little hard to follow, but that's not super important to still enjoy it. The White Lotus is excellent. Always liked all the Bosch and Jack Ryan stuff. I was looking for something to watch for 10 minutes while I ate some dinner and found All Creatures Great and Small (the new series) and couldn't stop watching it.

From way back, one of my favorite series ever was Carnivale and Deadwood.

Late to the game, but we're still in the middle of White Lotus Season 2 and Station Eleven. I loved Station Eleven The Book, but the series came out right when COVID hit, and a series about a crazy pandemic wasn't one I was in the mood for at the time, but I'm glad I decided to check it out. I've really been enjoying it.

In the film realm, I've seen a handful of notable ones:

Decision To Leave - best thing I've seen in many, many months
The Fabelmans - I'm in the minority. Watchable enough, but this is the neat-and-tidy Spielberg I tend not to like. I'd rank it in the middle or lower third of his filmography.
Triangle of Sadness - Loved the third act. Overall a pretty good movie.
Tar - Up there with Decision To Leave as among the best of the year for me.

Me too. Finished s1 of TK and e1-4 of 1923; new one in a couple of weeks.

Plus 'Yellowstone' for the second time (now in the middle of season 4), the current 'Yellowstone' (s5a just finished), and will get around to '1883' soon.

Also on ABC is s3 of 'Big Sky', CW s3 of 'Walker', and CBS s20 of original NCIS (been watching all of original NCIS as they happened, including the pilot on 2 episodes of 'JAG'. Liking Gary Cole as the new Team Leader.)

Cops and cowboys. And sometimes you get a bit of both on the same show.

Hearing rumors about a new (updated) "Justified" starring Timothy Oliphant reprising the lead role. If true, sign me up.

Don

Just finished Season 1 of "Slow Horses," on Apple TV. I'd watch Gary Oldman and Kristen Scott Thomas read the phone book. Season 2 up next.

I'm a big fan of Gary Oldman. I liked his take on Dracula, and especially as Mason Verger in Hannibal.

Just finished "The Swarm', a European eco-drama filmed in multiple languages - chiefly English, French and German. Enjoyed it and good to see some German actors getting the chance to reach a global audience.

Also currently enjoying the second and final season of Carnival Row and the rather good The Last Of Us. I never played the video game but Bella Ramsay is brilliant in it. And speaking of Pedro Pascal, The Mandalorian is back too - Baby Yoda aka Grogu has some moves!!!

Clarkson’s Farm, 2 seasons on Amazon Prime. If you are interested in farming at all, it’s a hoot.

My wife and I just binge watched Billions to the end of season 6. Awaiting the release of season 7 to see what the return of Axe will do to everyone’s plans. Also awaiting the return of Bosch.

We LOVED “The Velvet Queen”, a documentary about an adventurer and a writer wandering around high elevations (5000 meters!) in Tibet, hoping to observe a snow leopard in the wild. The pace is slow, but i didnt feel restless at all….in part because the photography of the many animals and the landscape is GORGEOUS!!

We have also been binging on British murder mysteries: Father Brown (soothing fluff that has predictable elements (but hard to predict the guilty party), but still engaging; Vera (grittier and well acted, but rarely overtly violent), and or latest might be the best: “ Endeavour”.
