My wife and I just finished the first season of The Responder with Martin Freeman on Britbox. If you enjoy light-hearted, whimsical, romantic fantasies this show is not for you. It does have lots of dysfunctional characters in depressingly dire circumstances revolving around law enforcement on both sides of a good/bad social dichotomy. We both thought it was quite good. Reminded us a bit of The Wire.

Just watched the first episode of Tokyo vice on Max. Pretty good so far. Watching the new True Detective. I only watched the first season. It didn't click with me good enough to watch any after that, but interested to see what Jodie Foster brings to the show.

I've just binged Netflix's Griselda with Sofia Vegara.

It was quite entertaining but fairly gory as most drug/cartel dramas are. I've no idea how historically accurate it is but she was undoubtedly a woman not get on the wrong side of.

+1. Episode 4 is the best yet, but I've been enjoying it all. Quite complex, the characters and politics.

I really have my fingers crossed that Three-Body Problem on Netflix will be good. I'm a little apprehensive about watching this series because I found the books to be incredible, TOP-NOTCH sci-fi. It seems unfilmable and perfect as it is, which is the same reason why I haven't seen the movie version of Cloud Atlas because I adore the book so much. Chances are, I'll just be disappointed in the Netflix series, but I know I won't be able to turn away, but hoping for the best.

Early in the pandemic Mom and I watched This Is Us a couple episodes a night until we got through the whole series up to that point - then watched them as the new ones came out.

I enjoyed it so much I bought the 1st season DVD set and have been watching them.

I'll probably buy the rest of them too - 5 -10 bucks shipped on Ebay - pretty cheap entertainment.

I really feel it was one of the best shows ever (at least for my tastes)

I'd also recommend "The Gentlemen" on Netflix, a Guy Ritchie series. Not as violent, not quite as sordid, and not filmed in quite as hyper a manner as "Lock, Stock, & 2 Smoking Barrels" or "Snatch". More stylish, but still with gangster themes. I'm enjoying it.
