Plans have changed, we were going to make a trip to pick it up and see Scotland, but now Rory will have it done in time to bring it with him to B.I.G. (er) so although we have not given up on going to see him there, it will be later in the year or next.

There is something so very beautiful and classy about your particular Froggy Walnut. In my eyes it is Stunning!
English Walnut has a slightly higher Specific Gravity than Black Walnut. Would love to hear this guitar.
Do you have any sound clips of this beauty?

Here's a sound example of a walnut topped guitar:

I think Furch does incredible things with Walnut, and you owe it to yourselves to check it out.
Every Furch I've ever heard (only on YouTube) sounded great, fwiw. Not sure how many were made but when they occasionally show up on sites like Reverb, those w14ce spring limiteds don't seem to last long. The one I tried at a lgs had a great woody low end like mahogany and sold quickly.

I believe that this was the all walnut guitar that Bruce Sexauer brought to WILS a few years ago: https://www.acousticguitarforum.com/...d.php?t=384474
This guitar actually vibrated when you played it. It was soooooo responsive; a real tour de force. It was one of those guitars that you get to play once in a blue moon that all you can do is say, 'Wow...'

Default I stand corrected

Actually the best walnut I've ever played was two separate guitars from Gibson, but the same model. This newer guitar: https://www.gibson.com/Guitar/ACC5JY...ntique-Natural

They are incredible. Might be something to the thinner finishes.

I argue the J-15 is the modern day "Workhorse" because of it's price and tone. J-45's are simply too expensive for starving musicians.

The grain on my J15 looks very similar to yours, which of course, is gorgeous.
The J15 is a stand alone home run in my book. It has a really unique voice and is great for singer-songwriter stuff. I proclaim it one of the top American-made guitars at this price point.

I love Walnut. It is a great recording wood....when we recorded our CD, the producer kept commenting that my Gardner Parlor (Engelmann/Claro) was the easiest steel string he had ever recorded. He did next to zero eq, just stick the mics in front of it and go.

The one on the right!

I thought about getting a guitar from Rory but my playing doesn't justify the extravagance of it. So I settled for a nice walnut-backed Lowden F23.
