Default Why?

Why are electric guitar sales encroaching into acoustic sales. Is there a change in policy or simply no one objects? If this continues it dismishes the purity of the site in my opinion. There are plenty of other sites for electric guitar sales.

I'm guessing because many (most?) play both. I don't have an issue with it. I can just scroll by anything that doesn't interest me.

Purity? I suppose this is a mark of elitism, like Andres Segovia citing electric guitars as "an abomination", but we all hold dear what we will. Personally, I play nylon string guitars so I scroll past anything that uses steel strings. Nylon string guitars - classicals - were the first acoustic guitars but people these days have it backwards and short sightedly only consider non-electric steel string guitars as acoustic. What's a definition to do?

I just checked the AGF rules, nothing in there about dismishing the purity of the site. There was something about being nice, and something else about something but no dismishing of purity. Come to think of it, the electric guitar helped me dismish my fair share of purity when I was a young man, doc may have a point.

Yeah I don't get the outrage. We're all here because we love acoustic guitars, but that doesn't mean we don't have other interests. Believe it or not I own both a Telecaster and a mandolin (gasp). But my first love is an acoustic guitar. And I also ride a Harley.

I'll agree to help restore the purity and pull my ad http://www.acousticguitarforum.com/f...d.php?t=464211 from the Classified section if you'll buy my Fender Strat...

Who cares?

I don't spend any significant time in B&S here anyway.

Craigslist locally has more to offer closer.

Walk in song, I had to sell my SG, but not on AGF, because it wouldn't do that. Come to think of it, none of my acoustics come close either.

Um, maybe they're selling an electric to finance the purchase of another acoustic - I've done it a few times (and vice versa, BTW)...

I own 14 acoustic guitars and one electric - and that one is used mostly for occasional hand rehab.

There is a dedicated electric room for discussions about them, and no one is forcing you to click on for sale listings for electric guitars. Personally there are at least 37 things that are higher on my list of daily worries......

Then why bother with discrete sites ? Put 'em all on one and have a free-for-all.Seems like a logical thought.
