1. Wife
2. More active

In fairness, my wife is fully supportive of my playing guitar in theory... and she hasn't given me too much of a hard time over my purchases. Unfortunately, she finds my acoustic guitar playing too loud no matter where in the house I am and no matter where in the house she is.

When the weather is nice I play outside on the front porch. My neighbours actually love it (and I make sure not to make noise when kids are sleeping etc).

I spend a massive chunk of the winter months though trying to make do with an electric guitar with headphones on. And since I like that much less than I do acoustic, it translates into playing much less.

If I did not have the soul of a dilettante I could be a better guitar player.

Cool Money For Nothing

If I did not have a computer to waste time posting on forums , I could be a rock star celebrity guitar player with a mansion , limo and chicks for free .

Yeah .... that's the way you do it .....

If I had had lessons/more motivation/an electronic tuner when I was young, I would be a much better guitar player now....

If I did not have anything else to do, I could be a somewhat better guitar player.

If I did not have such erratic sleeping habits, I could be a marginally okay guitar player.

If I did not have all these people in the world who have already heard what a guitar is supposed to sound like, I could be a fantabulous guitar player.

If I did not have all these people around who have a total lack of any hint of ability to see me in my dreams, I could be an honest to goodness half way decent guitar player.

If I did not have to work full time in a field not related to music, I could be a far better guitar player.

If I did not have a family in the habit of eating, I could be an average to good guitar player, worthy of the instruments I own.

If I did not have to live in England I could be a professional guitar player and singer.

Making a living is much harder over here.

Silly Mustache took my answer! Speaking on behalf of both of us, it isn't pretty being easy... um, I mean: it isn't easy being pretty. People never take you serious. It is, however, getting close to the point where I may not be able to get by on just my looks anymore. I am thinking about learning a 4th chord.
