Default Yamaha LL16 vs Eastman E8D?

Which one would you prefer and why, for a general all-around strumming, fingerpicking, flatpicking guitar. Is the E8D a bit more bassy than the LL16?

I haven’t a/b’d these two models, but I’d take the E8D personally. Scalloped bracing on the E likely means more bass and volume, but I just dig Eastman guitars.

E8D ...both hands down. I owned one a couple years ago. Even though my HD28 is my main player the E8D was pretty darn good. For the price compared to what a HD28 cost now if I were buying today I would probably get the E8D. No way is the HD28 $2000 better.

As you will soon see, this question will reek of subjective responses.
If you are just curious as to those responses, great. Please don't make your decision based on them. Buy the one you like. If you can't play both for comparison, I guess it won't matter.

I played a LL Yamaha. The sound was pretty good, but the neck was not bonding with me.

If you like a more traditional sounding guitar, the Eastman dreadnought will be a better fit. The Yamaha is actually a very nice sounding solid wood instrument. It’s a bit brighter and more modern sounding.

Yes but I will add, don't expect the eastman to sound like a martin. It sounds like an eastman.

No doubt. I chose my words carefully.

FWIW I didn't read a Martin/Eastman comparison into your comment...

My post wasn't a critique. (I probably shouldn't have quoted) It was meant to help clarify to the OP. Another post compared them to martins. The eastman is martin look-alike. "Traditional" can/does mean "like martin" to a lot of people when talking about a guitar that has more or less traditional martin specs. regards
