We will be exhibiting 4 guitars and a McKuke. First up is a Curly Big Leaf Maple, German Spruce LowLander:

Can anyone guess what wood the rosette, peghead and fret board inlays are made of?

You're not calling me a "Jacob", are you?
Actually, I just logged in when Tim posted his pics. We have some Black Palm in our stash, but haven't had the vision (or chutzpah) like Tim.
And Tim, John is correct that it looks great. Love the inlay on the head!!

Steve

I would warn you when using either Black or Red Palm to be extremely careful handling it. The long grain dark black fibers are like needles or slivers of sharp glass shards that will impale you when you least expect it. Don't ask how I learned this little known fact

Thanks for the kind compliments guys. I only wish my photography skills were half as good as Mark Hatcher's.

Beautiful guitar and Black Palm is an interesting choice for the Rosette. Striking!

I had the mis-fortune of encountering a live Black Palm tree many years ago in the jungles of Panama. I still have a scar on my hand from the infection.

In my Dad's day on the farm in the depression, that would have been a weeks worth of sandwiches.

My mom used to tell me the same thing. Lard sandwiches got a lot of people through some tough times.
Now, back to guitars!

Next up is a Bruce Sexauer / SongWriterFan inspired build. Its an all walnut SDG body with simple maple trim. After playing around with Bruce's all walnut guitar at the Memphis show and then being nudged by our client SongWriterFan we finally took the plunge and built a hardwood topped guitar. This was against my better judgement but occasionally I have been proven to be wrong and this was another one of those instances

The back and Double Sides are Eastern Curly Black Walnut. The top was reclaimed window sills from a stage coach livery that was built in the late 1700's. The fret board and bridge are Wenge. Side sound port combines our new "Medallion Insert" using our Luckenbooth design.

We hope you will stop by and spend some time test driving this guitar and offer us your honest feedback. The tone is quite unique.
