Weird insect sound
Went outside to have a look at the night sky and heard this weird warbling, humming sound being repeated. The sound moved around so I thought it was a bird but I couldn't see anything moving so I'm guessing it's an insect.
I recorded it on my phone, and you can hear it at https://colinsguitarstuff.bandcamp.com/track/weirdness. Try to ignore the hiss. Any ideas what makes that noise? |

Did some digging and it seems to be a snipe. Odd that I couldn't see anything flying around though.

We have a long tradition of snipe hunting here in the US. I'll take you if you'll hold the bag.

When convention and science offer us no answers, might we not turn to the fantastic as a plausibility
I'm thinking X-Files case. The truth is out there!
