I have a three-slot side-by-side Hercules stand just like that, and keep three on it, ready to play at all times.

It really all depends on
1. where you live, weather-wise
2. the lay out of your house
3. how often, for you, that you play 2+ guitars on the same day
4. the risk/benefit calculation of dings or scratches, for your particular situation, including kids, pets, visitors, and your attachment to the collectibility of your guitars

All in their cases away from prying eyes and busy fingers. A bit of a pain when I want to play but at least I know they are safe.

Thanks!

Storing cases is a bit of a problem!

like yrksman only since its stagehands brand I covered mine with black cotton from a t-shirt so theirs no contact with rubber. Couple on ultimate stands. Couple in closet with hangers. They rent me space in the coop.

I keep my Martin in the case and the 210 Taylor leaning against the couch in front of my recliner so I can grab it and play along when something comes on the tube. That's the only jamming available for me

Same for me as the fellow above. I have five acoustics. Another reason, in case of an emergency or a fire, I am grabbing guitar cases not having to take guitars off a wall, getting the cases and putting the guitars in them. Doing that times five would take time I might not have. IMO guitars are safest in the cases when not playing them.

The guitars stay in their cases until played. I play nearly every day. I pick out "the guitar for the day", set it alongside my chair, and then play. If I need to get up I put the guitar back in the case. I'm probably obsessive about keeping the guitars safe. There are no kids and no pets in the house so if a guitar is damaged it will be my fault.

PS: today is a 000-18 day; great sound and a delight to play.

I keep three out on a rack stand in the bedroom, next to my wife's banjo.

The Merrill is usually in The Calton Case next to the living room couch. The SCGC, Brondel, and Gibson mandolin are in the dining room. Sometimes they are in the hallway; other times in the bedroom. When the woman of the house is gone, the cases are on the dining room table or on the bed.

Always in their cases. Absolutely no justifiable reason to take a risk with a high-end instrument. Cases are kept where they can be seen however.

Used to keep 4 in a backroom that was hot in the summer and cold in the winter. That was 20 years. had to go through and just about rebuild the acoustics.

Now 2 electrics in hardcases next to my bed, and 3 acoustics in my dining room against the wall. 3 string swings coming for those.
