Long Jon, Ivory merely refers to the colour of the case, which is whitish cream. I too hope no animals were harmed in the making!

Lovely pictures kirkham13. Love that (bear claw?) top! Although blue does seem loud, it is still no doubt gorgeous haha can't go too wrong with any colour I suppose.

I agree with Todd Yates about the reflection of sunlight. Not very often are cases left in direct sunlight. I suppose it is useful in those rare occasions but ultimately the cases are subjected to heat from the surrounding air which would not be affected by colour.

I'd be reluctant to go with a white case just because it stands out more. May invite unwanted attention.

Bone, or even some of the synthetic cases work just fine.
But the real ivory ones come with baby seal fur lining.

That's one of the reasons I like it or my granite blue Calton.

At a jam or backstage with a lot of basic black guitar cases, it doesn't get mixed up. Have you ever almost grabbed the wrong case at the end of the night or seen someone else do that?

I have been on the bad end of that and had a guitar disappear (honest mistake) causing a few days of panic.

Would never have happened if I'd been using an ivory Hiscox or blue Calton back in those days when all cases were black.

I haven't take a black guitar case out of the house in years. It's ivory, blue or tweed.

I just got a guitar that came in a Hiscox case. It doesn't appear all that much more protective than my Geibs or the Martin thermoplastic case. It wouldn't seem to be in the flight case league of Caltons or H.offees

Ahhh, that's the beauty of them, IMO. They look just like a plain ol' case and are pretty lightweight. I have got one that I use in place of the Geib for transport.
You could try the test they put the one in this promo video to. (OK. Maybe not with the Lowden inside).

Marcus, don't get your heart set on an interior color. They often don't have both available.

Hiscox cases are very good at doing their job and I've flown to Spain and Greece with one successfully.

I like the Ivory colour a lot - really bored with black cases ! The only thing I don't like about Hiscox cases is their depth and the4 fact that they slide around in the boot of my car.

Oh man! Especially since they're starting to phase out the coloured interiors eh :\ the members here have already raised my hopes with all their comments and pictures! But I suppose I shouldn't be too hung up on the colours haha

That's an amazing looking guitar and case pgilmor. Not to mention the fan fret! I have a soft spot for those things. Looks like a 2" difference in scale length. How's the playability? Any difficulty in the reaches?

And thanks to you all for your opinions on the case! I should have consulted the AGF community a long time ago to save me time agonising over which one to choose!

Well, THAT certainly seals the deal. But only if they were clubbed.

One last point to consider... White shows off dirt much less than darker colors. I drive a white 2004 Subaru, still looks brand new even parked next door to a cement plant and gravel pit. Black cars on the other hand always look dirty except after a good wax, so unless you wax your case regularly, go with a light color.

So who cares if a guitar case shows dirt?

And it's not like you drive it through the mud.
