The legal versions of the Real Book is from Hal Leonard. There are now 5 books in that series along with some specialized books on the music of Bud Powell, John Coltrane, and Duke Ellington. Also Chuck Sher has a real book series.

not sure I understand your reply .. there are many books, Amazon, Barnes and Noble .. on and on .. called "fake books"

These are music books full of lead sheets, with chords, and lyrics.

What title do you like ?

Thanks..

There is a book titled, Sex After Marriage. It appears to be a couple of hundred pages, open it up, and all of the pages are blank. Always good for a white elephant party.

Sadly, it is the other way. Yet, I think I am funny, so it really does not matter.

But what genres do you play? There are Country fake books, movie/tv theme fake books, pop, jazz, disney (which has been a lifesaver for me while babysitting), fake books focused on specific decades... the list goes on and on.

Just find a book that has a songlist that appeals to you and go for it.

In that case you need to find out what your neighbour likes. And play the OPPOSITE, of course (as loud as you can).

You sure the "lamb" wasn't the cat he'd just electrocuted?
