NGD Gibson Les Paul
I made it to the guitar store for the first time since March. Drove the 2 hours one way to look at this used 2018 Gibson Les Paul Studio I saw posted. Plugged it in and I knew I was bringing it home. 57 Classic / 57 Classic + pickups with push/pull knobs for coil splitting. The 2018 also came with fretboard binding.
I took it apart tonight. By that I mean I took out both pickups to check the cavity and back of the pickups, took off the backplate to see the inside (it has the circuit board as expected), and I also took off the pickguard. Everything is as expected. My Marshall has a new friend. |

Very nice Dru! What a beauty! I love the color and the '57s.
I'll be your Marshall loves the new room mate. Are going to keep the PG off? I think I would. Looks great. Almost like the root beer finish on the LP double cut basses a few years back. |

Oh, and by the way, you can pick up a pickguard for it if you want. I had a LP studio that needed one. While I was at it I picked up the multi-laminate pickguard for an LP Custom and it dressed it up a bit.

Hey Bob - it came with a pickguard installed. I took it off and it's going to stay off. I did put both screws back in the body and put the pickguard/washers in a ziplock bag and it'll go with the case candy. |

Beautiful Lester Studio, Dru! Congratulations. Killer maple top with an abundance of flame. The stain really shows it off. Amazing to me, binding the neck adds that extra bit of class to the Studio series. I wonder why my 2020 neck is bare?

Thanks Chickee. I'm unaware of Les Paul Studio with neck binding except for the 2018 and some of the 2019s. Not sure why Gibson added binding for that period. Pickups were also changed to 57 Classics too.

Bet that plays and sounds real nice! I just bought one of it's cousins, the Tribute. I haven't owned a Gibson Les Paul since "the Paul" in the early 80's. Got interested in tracking one down to find out how much they where going for so got the Tribute instead. About to install some rotomatic locking tuners so the thing will hold tuning better despite having it setup professionally.
