Default Adding Mic/Pickup to Ukulele

I have a tenor uke I'm thinking about adding a pickup/mic and would like your opinions on what would be a good choice. I think I can install it myself, but there is a local luthier who would do it. Any preferences? I would rather not put one under the saddle, though that is still a possibility. Not sure if I want to add a pre-amp as well, but I'm open to suggestions.

K&K makes a uke pickup. JJB probably does too. Either will need a pre amp or DI of some kind. I had K&Ks put in my Pono tenor when I bought it.

Some years ago I installed a K&K in a bandmate's Collings uke. Sounds great with a RedEye preamp. These days I would try a Dazzo.

+3 on the K&K pickup (Aloha Twin). It sounds great on my uke, even without the pre-amp but I have a Fishman Loudbox Mini amp which I understand has a built-in pre-amp.

Thanks for the suggestions. I see the Aloha Twin is only $79 too.

I installed a K&K in a concert uke. It's a bit tricky as getting your hand inside to place the disc is almost impossible, as is drilling out the hole and installing the end pin jack.

I made a small jig, sort of like a mini teeter totter to exactly place the K&K discs properly. I then used a cut up patch chord that I ran thru the end pin hole to grab the jack and pull it into position.

Thanks for that info!
