Default dedicated to bobc's ovation

here's a guy i kind of forgot about, who slipped off the radar years ago for a different life, but a great songwriter and performer imo. used to do a few of his songs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2rDp...elated&search=

Default a stroll down memory lane...

I'll never forget seeing Cat Stevens in St. Louis in 1976 at Kiel Auditorium. I still regard that show as one of finest performances I've witnessed (and I've seen many). Alun Davies, Cat's other guitarist, was fantastic and I was impressed by how rockin' of a show it was. Cat was a dynamic live performer and his song writing skills were tremendous. Do yourself a favor and buy a copy of "Tea for the Tillerman" and "Teaser and the Firecat". Great stuff.

Oh, yes, this was great. So was 'Peace Train' & 'Father & Son'.
I was just thinking, perhaps, the Cat was the UK's answer to JD. What do you think ? I see the same joy and energy in their performances.

I agree, JD was definitely in a league of his own by far, no dispute about it, that simple!

Ah yes...the subject art form that is music. From my humble perspective, comparing Cat Stevens and John Denver is laughable (I'm assuming that's who "JD" is....).

Let the flaming begin. Sometimes a man has to take a stand!
