Default SOLD:McPherson 3.5 Port Orford/Rosewood

McPherson 3.5 Port Orford/Rosewood...great guitar!! Easy size to hold and play.

McPherson guitars now START at 12 grand for a custom build...which I'm told is the only way to get one, other than certainly you can buy existing inventory but expect to spend much more to buy one of these.

I've owned a bunch of McPhersons over the years, and continue to love the guitars. They are totally superb, and the quality of construction is second to none I've seen. But I need to reduce my numbers, and as such I had to make some hard decisions...this one was a casualty.

That said, someone will LOVE this guitar.
The size is a 3.5 which means that the depth of the butt end of the guitar is 3.5 inches. The upper bout is 4 inches. The thinner lower bout makes this guitar so much easier to hold than their other sizes, and is my favorite size in the McPherson line. Since this is a 16" lower bout, as a guy 5'9" it is essential that the depth be more shallow to make this play like a smaller guitar.

You simply don't see a lot or Port Orford Cedar, so I will give you a feel for it. It IS NOT a traditional cedar...read the following: Port Orford cedar is highly sought after as a tonewood because of its bold, robust, responsive tone. It has a golden-white color similar to Alaska yellow cedar, but is stiffer and lighter and is more immune to splitting than other soundboard woods. It's called cedar because it has a strong scent, but it's actually a kind of cypress. It is in no way similar to cedar or redwood in any sense of what it brings to a guitar. It's very stiff stuff...probably closest to Sitka, perhaps Adirondack spruce.

Includes: Ameritage custom-made arched hard-shell case with humidity control system--two humidifiers and a digital Hygrometer, plus three bone saddles--short, medium and tall. Includes a factory-installed L.R. Baggs RTS II active pickup system.

The specs are available here: http://mcphersonguitars.com/

SOLD plus shipping and Paypal.[/COLOR] Open to trades and reasonable offers.

Another fuzzy video ;(. But...let's you hear a the GREAT McPherson tone:

Thumbs up

Wow - an excellent McPherson, offered at a fire sale price! Haven’t seen one this good for under $6k since their big price increases a few years back. Great opportunity to grab one from a top-shelf AGF’er!

Awesome price on a guitar that does not come up for sale very often.

If you have been thinking about one of these, go for it.

You cannot deal with a better guy.

Saturday bump. Video below added in original Post.

Someone needs to own this guitar. I've priced it super LOW for a McPherson. If this price doesn't grab you, tell me what does. I'm open minded within reason.

Thanks Rob! There are a number of McPhersons out there for sale, but you are right finding one with Port Orford Cedar at this price is not possible
